About Me
- Oh. Hi there.I am a 17 year old who likes computers and games. I got my start as a four year old, when my father gave me a computer of my own running Windows 95. I quickly picked up how to run the OS, and by the age of 7, was setting up technology, and fixing problems. My interest for technology quickly grew as I did, and by the age of 15 I was working in a computer repair shop, and making websites. Currently, I go to a boarding school in Connecticut, and hope to attend a college in Boston.I am the Main Administrator, Writer, and a Co-Founder of the Gaming Vlog Network, and the founder of WorldNine Industries. I also regularly attend PAX (Attended. East '11, Prime '12, and East '13).

Moveable screen developed at MIT.
The prototype ‘Obake’ can react to a user by creating shapes out of the screen. In the demonstration above a mountain grows and and changes the run of a river on-screen.
Six specialized motors located below a silicone liquid rubber screen control the screen’s movement. Push, pry, prod, pinch, poke and the surface is malleable enough to move. (Watch a demo here).
A small microphone below the screen picks up the noise of vibrations when a finger touches the surface. Cameras mounted above detect the movement of a user’s hand; an overhead projector is used to display images.
Dand envisions many potential applications. The “display opens up all sorts of new options,” he adds. “Like for Excel tables with row and columns. What if it could pop out a chart bar and change the data?”
I just can’t stop thinking about how creepy this is, after watching this scene in Ghostbusters 2:

Just posting these with the hope that someone will feel inspired to modify their system with similar looks. I really like the Poké Ball design (both are from Wenis), but honestly I’d prefer Nintendo of America bringing over the Charizard XL. Hey, we got the Pikachu XL with Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, so it could happen with Pokémon X and Y!
